Look of the week

This is a photo of the lovely Ingrid Bergman in her role as Ilsa Lund in the movie "Casablanca" (1942).
The movie is more then fifty years old, a bit tacky and ridiculously dramatic (in a good way). 1940's Hollywood stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman (in their characters Rick and Ilsa) are forced to leave each other when the Germans conquere France. By the time they finally meet each other again in Casablanca, is Ilsa ingaged to another man. Lot's of trouble. Lot's of love. Will they ever be together again?
In this picture Bergman is wearing a simple white dress just below the knee, designed by Orry Kelly. I love the simplicity of this look and those stripes on her shirt. It gives the whole look a kind of Dior-ish charm. I also really like the hat, they compensate the mistake Kelly made on those tiny little shoes. I'm not so fond of those short heels. If one wants to wear heels, do it properly. At least 8 centimeters or higher.
